Workforce Training

North Dakota State Library
The North Dakota State Library offers 100's of online classes that are free to the public! You can access them by visiting www.library.nd.gov; step by step instructions on accessing them can be found HERE.
North Dakota Jobs Training Program
Available to new or expanding primary sector businesses to train new hires. Funds are generated by capturing employee income tax with holdings to cover the cost of the training in whole or part. Job Service North Dakota will provide a proposal based on job creation information provided.
TrainND
State-supported program for North Dakota’s two-year institutions to provide customized workforce training based on employer-defined needs. State funding can be pass-through funds through the Department of Career & Technical Education. Collaboration among higher education institutions can deliver business and soft skills combined with technical and mechanized/industrial training.
Operation Intern
A state-funded program available to North Dakota employers that provides up to $3,000 in matching funds per student per term for a maximum of $6,000 per student, and a maximum of $30,000 per employer in a biennium.
Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
Training, support, and other assistance including funding, are administered by Job Service North Dakota, and provided to applicants for employment preparation. Specific emphasis on sector strategies and partnering with other agencies for delivery of services. Federally-funded, formerly the Workforce Investment Act (WIA).
Childcare Aware
Teaches required topics such as CPR, First Aid, and safe sleep, but also offers ongoing training to help reinforce the best practices with new information and skills. They offer online (e-learning) or face to face options.
North Dakota 211
Provides trainings on topics such as mental health first aid, sucicide risk assessment, and suicide intervention.
ND Department of Public Instruction
Provides trainings and conferences for teachers to attend on topics such as school safety, health promotion, being trauma sensitive, and youth mental health.
ND Safety Council
Classes include CPR/ AED, team safety, self-protection and predator awareness, fall protection, OSHA trainings, and select certifications are also available.
